Stink Bug and Fall Invader Control in Kent County, DE

Every fall, stink bugs, boxelder bugs, and lady beetles crowd onto houses looking for a way in. We seal them out first.

What we do

A brown marmorated stink bug on a wall

The University of Delaware calls our region the epicenter of the brown marmorated stink bug outbreak. As nights cool in the fall, stink bugs gather on houses, decks, and garages and squeeze in to spend the winter. Boxelder bugs mass on sunny south walls, and lady beetles with a white M behind the head pile into attics. Once they're inside the walls, sprays don't do much. The best fix is sealing gaps before they move in, so that's where we start. A perimeter treatment can help at the right time, but sealing does the heavy lifting.

How we treat it

  • Sealing entry points

We caulk cracks, close gaps around windows and utilities, and screen vents.

  • Timed perimeter treatment

A treatment outside just before bugs gather can help, though it only lasts days to about a week.

  • Indoor cleanup tips

Vacuum any that get inside. Don't crush lady beetles, since they leave a stain.

What to expect

  • 1. Inspect

We look for gaps around windows, siding, vents, and utility lines where bugs squeeze in.

  • 2. Seal and treat

We seal entry points first, then treat the outside if timing makes sense. We'll tell you when kids and pets can go back into treated areas.

  • 3. Follow up

All of our work comes with a 30-day warranty. If pests come back within 30 days of a treatment, call us and we'll come back out at no extra charge.

How to get ready

  • Vacuum up any bugs that are already inside. Don't crush lady beetles, since they stain.
  • Let us know where on the house they gather, like a sunny wall or around windows.
  • Clear a path to the outside walls, windows, and vents.

After your treatment

  • An outside treatment only lasts days to about a week, so sealing gaps does most of the work.
  • Keep vacuuming any that get in, and empty the vacuum outside.
  • If they're still a problem within 30 days, call us and we'll come back at no extra charge.

Common questions

How much is fall invader control?

It depends on the property and the pest. Call us and we'll give you a quote.

When should I call?

Late summer and early fall is the best time to seal up, before the bugs start gathering on your walls.

Why not just spray inside the walls?

Dead bugs left in wall voids can attract carpet beetles. Sealing them out works better.

Do these bugs damage my house?

Boxelder bugs are a nuisance and don't cause structural damage or breed indoors. Lady beetles can stain fabric and walls if you crush them.

What should I do with the ones inside?

Vacuum them up. Avoid crushing them, especially lady beetles, which leave a yellow-orange stain.
