Termite control
Family-owned since 1992. We inspect for termites, treat the soil around your foundation, and back the work with a 1-year termite warranty you can keep renewing.
Do you have termites?
Signs to look for.
Swarmers or shed wings
Dark, winged bugs near windows and doors, or little piles of wings on the sill. Shed wings are often the only sign you'll see.

Mud tubes
Thin, earth-colored tubes running up the foundation, posts, or sills. Termites build them to get from the soil to wood.

Hollow or damaged wood
Wood that sounds hollow when you tap it, or wood that's eaten out from the inside.
No signs at all
Damage often builds for years before you notice anything. A yearly inspection catches what you can't see.
Why it matters
Termites don't take days off.
They eat more than you'd think
A large termite colony can eat dozens of pounds of wood a year. One University of Florida lab study works out to about 80 pounds a year for a colony of a million termites. That study used Formosan termites, a southern species. Delaware's eastern subterranean termites are similar but not identical.
The damage is hidden and slow
Termite damage usually builds over years, out of sight. Problems often show up 10 or more years after a house is built. By the time you spot it, termites have usually been at work for a while.
Insurance usually won't help
Homeowners insurance usually doesn't cover termite damage. Check your policy. That's why catching termites early matters.

We don't advise it. Penn State Extension advises against do-it-yourself termite treatment. Termites live in the soil, and getting product into the soil all the way around a foundation takes the right equipment and training.
