What we do
A termite letter is a wood-destroying insect inspection report, usually written on the standard NPMA-33 form. You may also hear it called a WDI report or WDO report. Lenders often ask for one before closing. For VA loans, the VA requires wood-destroying insect information for homes in every part of Delaware. We inspect the accessible areas of the home for termites and other wood-destroying insects and fill out the report. It covers wood-destroying insects only, not rot or mold, and it shows conditions on the day of the inspection. The report itself isn't a warranty. Agents, call us with the address and closing date.
What does a termite letter cover?
Here's what's in the report and what isn't.
- Covers termites and other wood-destroying insects, and signs of their damage.
- Covers the accessible areas of the home, as of the inspection date.
- Doesn't cover rot, mold, or areas we can't get to.
- Isn't a warranty on its own.
What if we find termites?
We'll walk you through treatment and give you a quote. Our termite treatments come with a 1-year termite warranty. After the first year, you can keep it active with a yearly inspection and renewal fee. If you sell the house, the termite warranty transfers to the new owner.
